The Folk Song and Indigenous Music Category is open to mixed choirs (SATB) and to choirs with equal voices.
 

No age limit is set for this category.
 

The competing choir must have a minimum number of twenty (20) singers, while the maximum number of singers is forty (40).
 

The total performance time, excluding entrance and exit, must be a minimum of 10 minutes and must not exceed 12 minutes.

Each competing choir must perform:
​(for NON-FILIPINO Choirs)

• one (1) folk song or indigenous music from the Philippines;

• one (1) folk song or indigenous music from the choir’s home country; and

• one (1) folk song or indigenous music from any other country. 
  
  (for FILIPINO Choirs)

• one (1) folk song or indigenous music from the Philippines;

• one (1) folk song or indigenous music from the Asian region; and

• one (1) folk song or indigenous music from any other country. 
   

Pieces may be sung a cappella or may be accompanied by unpitched instruments.
 

The use of microphones and other sound amplification is NOT allowed.
